Our Speciality

In Takvani Multi-Specialty Dental Clinic & Implant Center, we provide you with various unique treatment modalities which are one of its kinds in the town.

Teeth in a Day - Implants & Denture

Dental implants basically are small screws made of titanium and its alloys which are surgically placed in the jaw bone. To these implants, various types of abutments (attachments) are fitted, which help in providing anchorage to different types of prosthetic options. This led to the refusal of treatment in case the tooth to be replaced is situated in the front region.

No one, today, would like to face the world with a missing tooth in the front.

Dental implants have following advantages over fixed bridges and removable dentures.

  1. No need to grind adjacent teeth
  2. Appears exactly like a natural tooth as if it is emerging from within the gums
  3. Can tolerate forces as much as a natural tooth can do
  4. Can be placed in any region irrespective of presence/absence of adjacent teeth
  5. Lifetime solution for replacement of missing teeth

Earlier concepts included placement of an implant, followed by a waiting period of 3 months, where the implant would develop a connection to the surrounding bone, which is called osseointegration, following which the prosthesis can be given.

Immediate Placement and Loading - No Waiting Period
To overcome the above-mentioned problem, we, with our expertise, provide you with a unique facility of Immediate placement and loading of a Dental Implant.

This, in simple terms, means that : You come with a bad/missing tooth and you go back with a fixed tooth.

In case you have a tooth in the front that needs to be removed, we plan a single day procedure, where we remove the tooth, place an implant, fit an abutment and attach a temporary crown to the abutment, which appears like a natural tooth

Complete Dentures in a Day
Conventionally, fabrication of a denture requires 5-6 appointments spaced out in a 7-8 days interval. Due to this time and travel constraint, it becomes a little difficult for the patient.

At Takvani’s Multi-Specialty Dental Clinic, we have an attached acrylic laboratory, which makes it possible for us, and the only place in Jamnagar, to give you a Complete Denture in only ONE DAY. We start the procedure at 9 in the morning and deliver the denture within 12 hours.

Implant Supported Full Fixed Teeth
God has given us 2 sets of teeth. In case you lose the 2nd one too, we’ll help you getting the Third Set. This is one of the most advanced and the best alternative to complete denture, which eliminates all the demerits of dentures. 12-14 implants are placed (6-7 in each jaw), onto which ceramic teeth are cemented/screwed making it as good as your natural teeth. Unlike denture, these teeth get fixed permanently and make the maintenance quite easy; also eliminating the feel of placing/removing two huge acrylic plates in the mouth. Various treatment options are possible depending on the clinical and radiographic scenario of the tissues.

Implant Supported Over-Denture
In case of anatomical or financial constraints, we might not be able to place as many implants to support a fixed restoration. In such case, we can reduce the number of implants and place an over-denture on it. An over-denture is essentially a denture, which has increased retention, stability and support due to presence of implants underneath. This is way different from your conventional dentures which loosely fit your tissues and need to be cleaned 3-4 times daily. Over-dentures need to be taken out only once at night for cleaning purpose and when in use they give function almost similar to fixed teeth
Full Mouth Rehabilitation
Prosthodontists often come across situations where patients present with worn out teeth or heavy discoloration which cannot be cleaned by external means. Such teeth are the result of fluorosis and lack adequate strength to bear chewing forces and as a result they get worn off. Sometimes, tobacco chewing can also cause the same damage to otherwise normal teeth. In any case, if the bite has collapsed, and the height of lower face reduced, it requires an open bite procedure also called Full Mouth Rehabilitation. This involves restoring the height of worn out teeth to a normal level using standard protocols of prosthodontics using Crowns & Bridges or Implants. If not treated it might cause irreversible damage to teeth and the TMJ and may get very difficult to treat in later stage.

Tooth-Supported Overdenture
It is never ever necessary that if you have some teeth mobile then you need to get rid of all of them and wear a denture. We can very well preserve some firm teeth and use them as a means of providing support and stability for the future denture. The saved teeth need a Root-canal-treatment, followed by cementation of a metal coping on it. These teeth with copings/abutments act as pillars or foundation, and by friction fit or resilient cap, help in enhancing the stability of denture.
Smile Designing
Not all good smiles were born that way. In today’s era, cosmetics and esthetics have gained a lot of importance. Everyone wants to look good, and there’s no harm in that. Rather, we as prosthodontists help you enhance your smile, which is indeed a gateway to your heart. Esthetics in our field has many principles and protocols, which if followed properly yields mind blowing results and make you look better overnight. It involves treatment of your teeth as well as gums, set them proportionately and beautifies your smile.

Precision Attachments
Sometimes, conventional means of replacing teeth are not feasible due to some certain clinical and financial situations. Keeping in mind such special treatment needs, we provide you with various precision attachement supported prosthesis, where one component of prosthesis is fixed to your natural teeth / implant and other is a removable component. The two components when activated / attached provide a snap (resilient) or a friction fit between the two help retaining the prosthesis with increased stability. It also eliminates the large and loose removable partial dentures.
Facial Prosthesis – EYE, EAR, NOSE, LIP, FINGER
We often find patients who have been operated for cancer, having huge facial defects due to surgical resection of various vital structures of the face. Such surgical procedures usually end up with ugly facial deformities rendering the organs functionless.  As maxillofacial prosthodontists, we also have the facility for sculpting the rehabilitating these structures with artificial acrylic and silicon substitutes, which help restoring the function and the looks.

Laminates & Veneers
Laminates and veneers are very thin layers of composite resin or porcelain which are cemented or adhered onto the outer surface of front teeth for various corrective procedures. This treatment option is a less invasive procedure as compared to jacket crowns, which require lot of reduction of tooth. All may not be candidates for laminates and veneers; however in some clinical situations viz. discoloration of teeth, mild spacing (diastema) or narrow lateral incisors, it can be indicated.
Post & Core
In cases of severe decay or destruction of a tooth, root canal treatment is indicated, followed by protecting the tooth with a jacket crown. But a sound amount of remaining unaffected tooth structure is required, onto which a crown can be cemented. In severe conditions, this might not be possible and giving a crown directly would lead to fracture of the tooth from its neck. In such a situation, a post can be placed in the root canal up to half its length, which engages the surrounding sound tooth structure, and extends slightly outwards. This extension helps gain strength and fracture resistance, and also helps in aiding retention to the crown.
